Membership

As a member of the Eau Claire County Bar Association, you are eligible to attend all of the annual events, including the popular August Golf Outing, December Holiday Party and Spring Banquet. In addition, there are a variety of other social events and community service projects. The Eau Claire County Bar Association has long prided itself on the collegiality and professionalism of its members and the Association. The events allow an opportunity to interact with members of the Bench and Bar.

There is also an annual "View from the Bench" meeting where one or more of the local judges will address issues and concerns from the Court's perspective, in an informal interactive format. The Association has traditionally hosted seminars, featuring content of local interest, and offered at reduced cost to the membership.

The Association also has a number of committees, including the Program/Meeting Committee; Community Service Committee; Lawyer Services Committee; Bench and Bar Committee; and Young and New Lawyers Committee. Members are encouraged to participate in the committee and interest of their choice.

New to the membership is an e-mail list serve operated through the State Bar; the e-mail list serve operates to facilitate communication between the members and keeps the membership apprised of issues and events of interest.

The Association also helps sponsor the Law Library at the Eau Claire County Courthouse. This Law Library has long been considered the best regional Law Library in northwest Wisconsin offering a variety of case reporters, treatises, United States Code Annotated, local codes, and more recently, free electronic research.
